Good bookkeepers in regional Victoria are scarce, and the people worth hiring are usually not looking when you happen to be advertising. So this page is a standing invitation rather than a job ad.

Who we would want to hear from

• Experienced bookkeepers — comfortable in Xero or QuickBooks Online, able to reconcile a set of books without supervision, and confident enough to say when something looks wrong.
• Registered BAS agents, or people working towards registration.
• Payroll people — anyone who has run payroll for a business with staff, and knows why getting super right on every pay run matters.
• Office administrators with a head for detail who would like to learn the bookkeeping side.

Formal qualifications matter less to us than whether you can be trusted with someone’s accounts. If you’ve been doing this competently for years without the certificate, say so.

What we can offer

• Work in Traralgon, at an office you can walk into, with people you’ll actually meet.
• A varied client list — everything from sole traders to sizeable operations, rather than the same file every day.
• Being trusted to own your clients rather than processing a queue.
• Flexibility about hours where the work allows it. Ask; the answer is often yes.

We are a close-knit practice, and that means less structure than a large firm, no graduate program, and a genuine expectation that you can work things out and speak up. Some people find that far more satisfying. Some don’t.
